En el último Womad Las Palmas, con la presencia de Seun Kuti en el escesanrio, se me ocurrió volver a pasear musicalmente por Africa, continente del que sólo conozco algunos pocos países, pero que musicalmente he paseado en varias ocasiones. Esta es una sesión con una gran riqueza de sonidos procedentes de Ghana, Mali, Camerún, Nigeria, Marruecos, Sahara, Guinea, Etiopía, etc, con grandes voces, y estilos como el afrobeat, jazz, cánticos de raiz, música gnawa...., que representan el inconfundible sonido del continente. De todos estos grandes artistas, destaco a Oumou Sangaré, cantante y luchadora activista por los derechos de la mujer de Mali, que la escuché en directo por primera vez en 1996, con poquitas personas de público, y presentando su albúm Worotam, con el que me conquistó de por vida.
Espero que disfruten este paseo africano, un continente musical.
Y gracias a todos esos festivales que se han hecho en Canarias... festivales como Womad Las Palmas, Tránsitos festival, Mumes, Tensamba, Diversity, con los que tanto hemos aprendido y que nos han dado la oportunidad de disfrutar de músicas procedentes de todo el mundo.

At the last Womad Las Palmas, with the presence of Femi Kuti on stage, I thought to walk musically through Africa once again. I only know a few countries from this continet, but I have musically walked it on several occasions. This is a session with a great wealth of sounds from Ghana, Mali, Cameroon, Nigeria, Morocco, Sahara, Guinea, Ethiopia, etc., with great voices, and styles such as Afrobeat, jazz, root chants, Gnawa music..., which represent the unmistakable sound of the continent. Of all these great artists, I would like to highlight Oumou Sangaré, singer and activist fighter for women's rights from Mali, who I heard her live concert the first time in 1996, with a few people in the audience, and presenting her album Worotam, with which conquered me for life.
